Postdoc Professionals is an expert webinar series for researchers to reach out regarding their research and vision. A webinar in the open knowledge exchange format builds capacity to understand the research landscape better, expands your network, and opens up exploration of next career steps. 

Opportunities emerge in various ways from presentations, outreach and exchange. Postdocs have built up experience and knowledge. A presentation showcases more than reaching out to new contacts by sharing CV or email. The presentation should inform in an efficient and clear way for the intended purpose. The presentation should show skill to present for professionals in the same area but different activity — for example a device researcher in silicon carbide presenting to a crystal grower. Or across disciplines — a researcher in LED technology for general lighting presenting to a researcher who studies how new lighting affects people’s perception of light.

An expert webinar is 10 minutes and there is 10 minutes of exchange. The open knowledge exchange is designed to grow a community by maximizing knowledge sharing through efficient form with dedicated discussion time for each presentation. The exchange includes Q&A, discussion and idea sharing. This balance is intentional. Longer presentations can easily become deep dives, which may reduce the momentum of the webinar. The exchange is where ideas emerge, where unexpected questions can lead to new perspectives, and where connections develop beyond the scientific topic into professional networking between researchers.

At the same time, participants grow knowledge by listening to other researchers topics and perspectives. The exchange builds own capacity to understand contexts and provides an overall competence building. We will gather interests and host a forum from time to time with 2-3 expert webinars.
