The Forum — the entry
Forums are online, under one hour, and designed for genuine exchange rather than passive listening.
Each forum features one presentation of 20 minutes followed by 20 minutes of open discussion. That balance is intentional. The discussion is where ideas emerge, where unexpected questions lead somewhere interesting, and where connections form.

The Workshop — deeper engagement
After a series of forums, a full-day online workshop brings the community together for more substantial exchange. Presentations are 15 minutes, allowing more contributors and broader coverage of a topic. The interactive format is maintained.
Workshops can be initiated by a researcher who wants to focus on a specific area. You propose the topic, invite your colleagues, and chair the workshop. IW-Global handles the practical side such as programme, and outreach through our channels and networks. You get credit and the visibility of being the organizer.
This format also works well for research projects that would like to have a dissemination and outreach event using our platform.
The Physical Workshop — immersive collaboration
From time to time we run a physical workshop. The format is deliberately different from a standard conference.
Our main format is a three-day cruise: Stockholm to Helsinki, Tallinn, or Riga and back. Participants stay on the same ship, eat together, work together, and spend evenings together. There are no separate hotels pulling people in different directions. The structured sessions by morning and afternoon, with breaks and meals are complemented by the informal time that a shared environment creates.
This is where relationships deepen, where project ideas become real plans, and where the community becomes something more than a contact list. It is also simply a good experience.

This is a simple and efficient way to disseminate. It also starts to build your network and visibility.
From time to time there will be a topical workshop. This is mainly organized with a researcher who is interested to have credit of being organizer, and also to broaden own network.

Empiriworld is a network that invites using LinkedIn and Facebook (see social channels at footer), and news by email from time to time. That makes IW-Global more resource efficient.
Physical workshop
We will use a format which gives lot of time together. Main location will bon a cruise ship: Stockholm to Helsinki/Tallinn/Riga and back. Three day cruise. We have breakfast, morning session, coffee break, lunch, afternoon session, coffee break, dinner, social. All have accomodation at same place (the ship). Not like at conference in a city with different hotels: a format that breaks up the time we can have together.
