Who this is for and how it works
IW-Global is for researchers who wish to interact with colleagues and stakeholders around a focused topic. The format is designed for close exchange. The model follows principles similar to open publishing and open innovation by applying free audience participation, which broadens outreach, further builds the community, and helps grow the visibility and networks of both the chair and the presenters.

Expert Webinar
An individual researcher makes a presentation with purpose of Knowledge Exchange. Those who want to expand that can use forums or workshops. The more active you are, the more outcomes there will be.
Forum
This is for those who have made an expert webinar, and want to build next step. A forum has 1-2 presenters and is chaired by the expert. The forum format is designed to further grow a community around the topic.
Workshop
This is the next step after forum for those who proactively want to build visibility and network related to their research and career. You propose the topic, suggest 1–2 experts, and invite to workshop in your network. The expert webinars are held some weeks before the workshop and help introduce the topic, build interest and promote the upcoming workshop. You chair the workshop, while IW-Global supports the practical arrangements, programme preparation, registration, promotion and outreach through its channels and networks. The efficient number of presenters is around 10–12 to keep small format and interactive discussions.
Forum and Workshop format
The Open Knowledge Exchange Expert Webinars, Forums and Workshops are held online via Zoom.
The chair opens the event with a short introductory presentation that frames the topic, explains its relevance and highlights opportunities, challenges and future directions. This establishes a common context for the presentations and discussions that follow.
Each contribution follows the same structure:
10 minutes presentation + 10 minutes exchange
The exchange includes Q&A, discussion and idea sharing. This balance is intentional. Longer presentations can easily become deep dives, which may reduce the momentum of the forum/workshop. The exchange is where ideas emerge, where unexpected questions can lead to new perspectives, and where connections develop beyond the scientific topic into professional networking between researchers.

How it works
You contact us and we discuss the topic.
The topic and title are strategic choices. They should reflect a research area while also highlighting your strengths and vision for future progress. The webinar/forum/workshop is not only about sharing research; it is also an opportunity to build visibility, expand your professional network and shape discussions around areas where you wish to contribute and grow. This perspective should also guide the preparation of the introductory forum or workshop presentation.
You invite other expert speakers from your network, and together we identify a suitable date that provides sufficient time for practical arrangements, programme preparation, participant registration, promotion and outreach through relevant channels and networks.
Expert webinars and forums are free. For the workshop, the chair participates free of charge. A presenter fee of €220-280 is charged to support workshop organisation, registration, outreach and community-building activities. Audience attendance is always free.
A Physical Workshop — immersive format
We can organize a physical workshop.
We use a format which gives lot of time together. Main location is a cruise ship: Stockholm to Helsinki/Tallinn/Riga and back. Three day cruise. We have breakfast, morning session, coffee break, lunch, afternoon session, coffee break, dinner, social. All have accomodation at same place (the ship). Not like at conference in a city with different hotels: a format that breaks up the time we can have together.
